Hippocrates Healing Broth
Updated: Jul 19
This broth is the perfect remedy if you or a loved have gotten sick or feel like you may be coming down with something.

This is a go-to remedy for colds and the flu.
The vegetables, herbs, and roots in this broth provide a strong dose of vitamins and minerals, plus have anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
If you don't have all of the ingredients on hand, just use what you have. I once made a healing broth from just 4 garlic cloves, 1/2 an onion, 2 carrots, celery, cilantro, and ginger powder and it still helped (a lot!) (reduce amount of ginger if using less than the suggested ingredients so that your broth isn't too spicy.)
Recipe
Ingredients:
-4 carrots, chopped
-1 sweet potato or regular potato, cubed
-2 stalks of celery, chopped
-2 onions, sliced
-1 cup parsley or cilantro, chopped
-1 cup shiitake mushrooms fresh or dried (optional)
-2 tomatoes, chopped (optional)
-6-8 cloves of garlic, smashed
-1 inch of fresh ginger root or 1/4 tsp ginger powder
-8 cups of water
optional: red pepper flakes
Instructions:
-Place all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a gentle boil.
-Turn heat to low and simmer for an hour.
-Strain and sip for a healing broth or leave veggies in for a vegetable soup.
